Firelands 2026 Primary Endorsements

While the cost of food, housing, and childcare go up, our wages don’t keep up. While we pay our taxes, corporations and the super-rich get away with paying next to nothing. While we hustle to make our car payments, feed our kids, and pay our rent, our school funding gets gutted, paid family medical leave is on the chopping block, and billionaires want us to give them ANOTHER tax break. While we struggle, people at the top keep rigging the system to rake it in. 

Rural working families need elected officials who will fight for US, not just for the people with the deepest pockets. We need elected officials who will unrig the rules. 

We interviewed local candidates and asked them what they were going to do for working families. These are our top choices for candidates for the August 4, 2026 primary election. These candidates are running to defeat billionaire-backed political agendas, and are working to win good affordable healthcare, housing, childcare, and good jobs in timber country.
